My Commander Decks

Thinking of playing Magic (commander format, casual multiplayer) when Tyler comes over from the island!

I'm happy to lend anyone decks. Here are my 5 decks, from "Magic as Garfield Intended" to weird jank

Giada/Angels Deck

Giada/Angels White Mana

Cast angels, make them huge with your commander, who is conveniently also a mana dork for Angels.

Queen Marchesa Deck

Queen Marchesa White ManaBlack ManaRed Mana

(long may she reign)

Marchesa makes it easy to get card advantage with the excellent Monarch mechanic that incentivizes combat. From there: smack people with big creatures, and use some combat tricks or closer spells to finish the game.

Saskia Deck

Saskia the Unyielding White ManaBlack ManaRed ManaGreen Mana

Saskia is where things start to get weird. Saskia wins with combat damage and you have to pick 1 player off at a time; the idea is to set up lots of damage doublers and then send Ball Lightning-style creatures with trample at that person. It very rarely wins me the game, but it can get pretty political and it's fun when it goes off.

Solphim Deck

Solphim, Mayhem Dominus Red Mana

Solphim is my "speed things up" deck. It's for the end of the night or when you have too many players. Ramp into lots of red mana, cast big burn spells at everyone else 🔥 🔥 🔥. It's very mean but for a good cause

Life of the Party Deck 1 Life of the Party Deck 2

Life of the Party* White ManaRed Mana

Life of the Party is not actually the commander, but the whole deck is built around finding+casting him. Basically: summon increasingly large creature tokens for everyone else, they have to attack each other.

This one is super janky and rarely wins. But it's the deck I'm proudest of, it goes for an unusual combat-based wincon that lets everyone at the whole table do the fun part of Magic: turning cards sideways
